The Annual National Shrimp Festival takes place each October at Gulf Shores Public Beach. This four-day event attracts more than 300,000 people with 50 local and regional vendors serving their variation of the crustacean.

There are also nearly 200 art and crafts booths, 100 hours of live music, a Little Miss Shrimp Festival Pageant, Annual Sand Sculpture Contest, and 5K and 10K race.
