Learn about Orange Beach History and Culture

Orange Beach has a long-standing history that dates back to the 1860s. Throughout the entire Gulf Shores you can see remnants of times past, like at the Fort Morgan State Historic Site, Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum, Historic Fort Gaines, USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park, and more. Orange Beach Indian and Sea Museum also documents the area’s first settlers in a 1910 building. View local history, Native American culture, regional and marine fishing history, and artifacts.

Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach is a cultural representation of today in the Gulf Shores. The 10,000-square-foot art gallery overlooks Wolf Bay and is host to regular events, demonstrations, and educational programs.
